HOST AN INTRO TO POLO CLINIC AT ORANGE COUNTY POLO CLUB
Polo is recognized as the oldest team sport and is often referred to as "The Great Equalizer." It levels the playing field between genders and differing physical strengths. With excitement on and off the horse, participants must collaborate to reach a common goal. Polo is an excellent team-building activity because it requires effective communication, boosts confidence, and enhances teamwork skills. It also fosters positivity among team members, as no player can succeed without their team!
We offer several different options for you to customize your private polo experience:
Polo Team-Building
(the best option for large groups)
2 hours. The maximum group size is 60 people.
This immersive team-building event will take your group through a series of engaging stations designed to develop essential skills for success in life, work, and sport. Through hands-on activities, participants will enhance their communication, collaboration, strategic thinking, and team support—critical skills that translate across professional and personal settings.
As part of the experience, participants will learn about polo equipment, proper care for a polo pony, and the fundamentals of the swing and the game. After rotating through all stations, teams will apply their newfound skills to a high-stakes challenge—strategizing and supporting one another in a competitive penalty shootout to cap off the event.
Group Polo Lesson
Limited to groups of 12 or less
Your team will have the opportunity to better understand horsemanship, mallet skills, and teamwork. We will begin on foot, covering hitting techniques before moving on to the mounted portion of the lesson, where we’ll discuss riding skills and the basics of polo. The experience culminates in an exciting team penalty shootout. This final challenge reinforces polo fundamentals and deepens participants' ability to work collaboratively, adapt under pressure, and build confidence in themselves and their teammates.
The event will conclude with a team penalty shootout on real polo ponies, where participants must support each other to win. This portion will provide more in-depth instruction on working with the horse and offer additional opportunities for skill development.
Learn to Play Polo
Orange County Polo Club offers both private and group lessons for riders of all abilities, from complete beginners to advanced riders. Anyone can learn to play polo. You can choose between private lessons with one of our instructors or group lessons.
Watch Polo
A few times a year, Orange County Polo Club opens its doors to the public. These events offer an exhilarating opportunity to see the action up close while enjoying the state-of-the-art facilities.
