How did you get started with horses?
When I was 4 years old I had my first English riding lesson in Coto de Caza and I've been riding since! At age 8 I transitioned into dressage. In 2011 I made the Region 7 Young Rider team where I competed internationally in Lexington Kentucky. During this time I took my first Polo lesson with Heather Perkins and got "hooked!"
How did you get involved with polo?
In 2010, I bought my mom a 2 for 1 polo lesson for Mother's Day. Since that day she and I haven't stopped! My first polo pony was named Petey, and shortly after that I got Zenardi and my mom got her first polo pony named Appy!
What do you enjoy about polo?
My favorite thing about polo is that I get to play a fun and competitive sport with my mom. Having this opportunity to share a love for horses and polo with her is something I'm forever grateful for. My dad also loves to come watch us play. He's always been so supportive of us. Polo is such an amazing team and family sport. I'm so lucky and grateful to have the opportunity to play polo with my mom and my OC Polo family.
What do you enjoy about working in polo?
I really enjoy meeting and teaching new people and introducing them to the sport of polo. I love taking sets and riding the polo ponies. I also love working with Bekah and Heather at OC Polo. Working in polo has also given me the opportunity to lead docent rides and become a certified LART volunteer.
